Bryce Melaragno is the Instrumental Music director at Lakewood High School. Mr. Melaragno teaches the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, Pit Orchestra and the Bengal Regiment. Mr. Melaragno was nominated for a Bobby G Award for Outstanding Music Direction in 2013 for Les Miserables and in 2017 for Sweeney Todd. The Lakewood Pit Orchestra was nominated for a Bobby G Award for Outstanding Orchestra in 2014 for Young Frankenstein. The Lakewood Chamber Orchestra was selected to perform at the Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic/Conference in January 2018.
Mr. Melaragno previously taught in the elementary schools of the Lakewood Area and at Creighton Middle School. During that time, Creighton Middle School was recognized two times as an Exemplary Band Program by the Colorado Bandmasters Association and the Creighton Symphonic Band performed at the Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic/Conference in 2015.
Mr. Melaragno was recognized in 2014 as the Outstanding Young Music Educator by the Colorado Music Educator's Association. In 2015, he presented a Clinic at the Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic/Conference - CYA2: Capturing Your Administrators Attention.
Mr. Melaragno is a current member of the National Association for Music Education, Colorado Bandmasters Association, American String Teachers Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the Colorado Music Educators Association. He graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2010.
Olivia Allen is the Assistant Band Director and guitar instructor at Lakewood High School. Mrs. Allen teaches the Symphonic Band, the second Percussion Ensemble, guitar, and assists with the Bengal Regiment.
Mrs. Allen moved from Texas in 2016, where she previously taught in Big Spring Independent School District as an assistant band director. During her time in Big Spring, she assisted with taking the Big Spring Steer Band to the UIL Texas State Marching contest in 2014; she took two junior high and two high school bands to UIL Concert and Sightreading contest, and assisted with taking the top high school band to the UIL State Wind Ensemble contest in 2014 and 2015.
Mrs. Allen graduated from West Texas A&M University in 2014 with a Bachelors of Music, and is anticipating her Masters of Music Education from Stephen F. Austin University in December 2017. She is a member of the Colorado Bandmasters Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association and Woman Band Directors International.
